On Friday, 20th June, Australian Computer Society WA Branch announced the winners and finalists of the 23rd Annual Western Australian IT and Telecommunications Industry Awards (WAiTTA)
Ignia and the WA Department of Housing are honoured to have been named as the national finalists in the Development Category for their innovative approach to a complex Business Intelligence project.
The project pioneered a unique approach to Business Intelligence, with the initial solution, the Maintenance Dashboard developed by the Department together with Ignia winning a Leading Innovation Award at the 2013 Professional Excellence Awards.
The solution was developed by using the platform approach to Business Intelligence and delivered using the same technologies and tools familiar to staff (such as SharePoint and Excel). This approach drove greater user adoption and was accomplished much faster than traditional methods by using a Scalable Agile approach, where value is constantly added through quick wins and without sacrificing quality or extensibility.
The WA finalists will now progress to the next stage- the National iAwards with winners announced at the gala dinner in Melbourne, on August 29th, 2014. For a complete list of finalists, please visit the iAwards website for more information.
“To be amongst WA’s most talented innovators at the WAiTTA awards was a great experience and it was an absolute honour to be selected to represent WA on the national stage! A big thank you to our dedicated, passionate team and of course to our customers, who are willing to push the boundaries of technology” says Phil Rickson, Managing Director at Ignia.
