Ignia, a Perth based company specialising in Microsoft cloud and mobility solutions, has won the number 8 spot on the 2014 BRW ‘Best Places to Work in Australia’ list in its first year of entering the highly competitive survey.
The BRW ‘Best Places to Work’ awards honour the nation’s most beloved workplaces by surveying the people who know best — the employees themselves.
Based on one of the world’s most comprehensive studies of workplace culture by Great Places to Work Australia, the study measures how much employees trust their organisation, have pride in what they do and enjoy working together, with organisations asked to provide proof of initiatives implemented to retain happy, engaged, loyal, high performing workforces during challenging times.
“There’s no greater satisfaction than having Ignia ranked so highly by our employees,” said Joshua Boys, Director at Ignia. “I consider myself lucky to be part of such an amazing team and it shows in the success of our customers and the rapid growth we’ve enjoyed as a company. We are very proud of our staff and their achievements and we are humbled to be recognised among Australia’s happiest workplaces.”
The award recognises Ignia’s commitment to its motto of ‘Shared Success’ and its family-first culture. Having worked hard to create unique environment for its staff and a centre of innovation in the heart of Perth through a number of retention initiatives, award programs and a diverse project portfolio, the company has plans to expand into the east coast, with an office opening up in Melbourne.
“People should take note of the companies that comprise this study,” stated Zrinka Lovrencic, MD of Great Place to Work Australia. “These will be the companies that attract and retain the most skilled, loyal and innovative employees in the coming years.”
Heavily involved in development and innovation across the wider IT community, Ignia also hosts a variety of community events, with staff organising and presenting across a range of topics. This is not just limited to IT, with Ignia’s Organisational Development Manager, Donna Edwards an organiser of the HR community group ‘HR Connected’.
“HR strategies are becoming better aligned with business goals and Ignia is a perfect example of the success that can be achieved when Directors view SHRM as imperative,” said Donna. “We also place a big focus on diversity, with females making up 20% of our team – a ratio which is almost unheard of in our industry,” she added.
